Job Opening:

Geomechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Geomechanical Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting geomechanical studies and analyses to ensure stability and safety across our mining projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Geomechanical characterization of the rock mass (field data acquisition).
  • Monitoring and control of stability.
  • Defining and validating support types.
  • Designing reinforcement systems based on the quality of the rock mass and excavation conditions.
  • Conducting numerical modeling (simulations) utilizing software such as Phase2.
  • Software utilization: AutoCAD, Vulcan, Leapfrog.
  • Processing structural data utilizing Dips, Unwedge.
  • Identifying and evaluating risks associated with rock falls, collapses, or ground pressures within the underground mine.
  • Providing support to mine planning by consulting on excavation design.
  • Conducting training sessions for personnel regarding area-related topics.

Requirements:

  • Academic Background: Geologist or Geological Engineer.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of six months of experience in underground mining.
  • Availability: Availability to work on mining projects in Segovia, Antioquia.

Employment Conditions:

  • Schedule: 14 x 7 rotation on a 12-hour shift.
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience (Salario a convenir).
  • Benefits: Accommodation, meals, and transportation from Medellín are provided.
  • Contract: Indefinite term contract.
