Bloomberg Línea published: “Indian origin investor to Acquire Mineros Shares from Sarmiento Angulo’s Company”

Sun Valley Investments launched a new Public Tender Offer (PTO) for 11% of the mining company. It has already reached a preliminary agreement to purchase a block of shares from Corficolombiana.

Bloomberg Línea — Mr. Vikram Sodhi, an Indian origin investor and owner of Sun Valley Investments, seeks to increase his stake in Mineros S.A. To achieve this, he will acquire a block of shares from one of Mr. Luis Carlos Sarmiento Angulo’s companies.

Sun Valley Investments, a company founded and led by Mr. Sodhi as CEO, submitted an application for a Public Tender Offer (PTO) to the Colombian Superintendent of Finance (SFC).

The PTO is for 11% of Mineros’ shares. However, Sun Valley and Corficolombiana, a company that is part of Grupo Aval’s financial conglomerate, whose main shareholder is Mr. Luis Carlos Sarmiento Angulo, have already agreed on the purchase of the financial corporation’s shares.

Specifically, Sun Valley will acquire more than 23 million Mineros shares from Corficolombiana at a price of COP$5,500 each. This means Sun Valley will pay COP$131.176 illion for the 7.96% stake in Mineros.

Mr. Sodhi, through Sun Valley, is already the primary shareholder of Mineros, having acquired shares from Mercantil Colpatria in 2024 and executed three PTOs for the shares of the Antioquia-based mining company.

Currently, Sun Valley holds 57.42% of Mineros’ shares and expects to control 65.38% of the company upon completion of the PTO.

Sun Valley is a private investment firm focused on the metals and mining industry, with portfolio companies and offices across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

The firm finances the entire precious metals supply chain, including mineral exploration, mine construction, production, processing, and refining.

Mr. Vikram Sodhi is a private investor with approximately 20 years of experience in the investment world.

His career in investments highlights the application of investment strategies in leveraged buyouts, restructuring, and growth across the metals and mining, affordable housing, and financial technology sectors.

Mr. Vikram Sodhi is a Partner, Manager, and Co-founder of Sun Valley Investments, a private investment firm specializing in metals and mining. He also serves as Executive Chairman of Goldlogic Corp, a precious metals investment company with a rapid-growth model for financing producers and developers based on their refining needs.

Through this company, he provides initial funding for the working capital needs of precious metals producers. Mr. Sodhi studied at Yale University, where he received a full international scholarship and conducted neuroscience research at the School of Medicine. He is also a member of the Yale President’s Council on International Activities and a Sterling Fellow of the university.
