Job Opening:

Geomechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Geomechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geomechanical studies and analyses to ensure stability and safety in our mining projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geomechanical characterization of the rock mass (field data collection).
  • Conduct monitoring and stability control.
  • Define and validate support types.
  • Design reinforcement systems based on rock mass quality and excavation conditions.
  • Perform modeling (simulations) utilizing software such as Phase2.
  • Utilize software: AutoCAD, Vulcan, Leapfrog.
  • Process structural data in Dips and Unwedge.
  • Identify and evaluate risks of rockfall, collapses, or ground pressures within the mine.
  • Provide support to mine planning by advising on excavation design.
  • Train personnel on topics related to the area.

Requirements:

  • Academic Background: Geologist or Geological Engineer.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience in underground mining.
  • Availability to work on mining projects in Segovia, Antioquia.

Labor Conditions:

  • Schedule: 14×7 roster, 12-hour shifts.
  • Salary: To be discussed.
  • Benefits: Lodging, meals, and transportation from Medellín provided.
